Who Are These Guys
Who are these guys you may ask? We are three blokes who started gaming in our teens like most wargamers. The only difference is we all ended up working for that global hobby company known as GW. That’s how we became colleagues for a while and ended up as friends, all these years later, with huge stockpiles of miniatures still to paint.
Several decades ago we met in a small GW store and over the years had various roles in the company before moving on to different jobs. After leaving GW though we continued our hobby and continued to collect models. Expanding out into other games systems became the norm as, between us, we tried just about everything over the years. Eventually, we all came back to Games Workshop systems and even began reminiscing about the glory years of GW as we jumped back into long-extinct systems.
Hobbies don’t die they just take a hiatus
Getting our hobby on over the years became harder as life impacted hobby time. All three of us went about getting our fix in different ways. One of us went searching it out through podcasts and creating gaming clubs. Another went looking for victims, err I mean fellow competitors, on the tournament scene. While another crossed over into the digital realm and just keep collecting and hoarding figures promising to one day paint them all.
Eventually, though we all came back to where we started. A few blokes just keen to paint some models and play with toy soldiers. That brought us here to the blog. A way to reconnect and get painting again and there’s no better time than now.
You may have met us at a store, a club, or a convention. You may have even seen us in White Dwarf. But if you haven’t I guarantee you know someone just like us. Maybe it’s you and that’s why you’re here. Maybe it’s someone you know and you have no idea what this whole wargaming hobby is about. Well, read on over the next few days as I tell you a little bit more about us and why we’re here.
