July Pledges

The Guys

We are already into the second week of July! This month is moving quickly so it’s about time we had a quick update on everyone’s July pledges. What exactly is everyone working on and what do the guys have planned for this month?

With the release of the new 40k this month we wanted to do something a little special to celebrate. We have actually challenged each other with another good old fashioned paint off. This time around though, we thought we would do it in a way that other people could join in if they wanted. Details will be revealed tomorrow. When 40k goes up for pre-order!

Knowing that a painting challenge was coming this month everyone has taken it pretty easy on their pledges for July. There will be painting and hobby happening all month but a lot will revolve around getting ready for the new game.

Fury

The plan Fury has this month is to continue building out his Space Wolves. He is raiding his various piles of shame almost daily to find new ways to incorporate old models into his force. His latest addition is a Predator.

This Predator started life as a pretty destroyed Rhino chassis. Fury has scavenged bits from around his plastic piles to turn what was a useless Rhino chassis into a very useable Predator for his mighty Wolves of Fenris. Looking at the work done so far, this new tank will fit nicely alongside the Whirlwind he converted at the start of the month which also made use of old Rhino chassis’. Hopefully, he can find time to paint it up this month as well.

Fairy

This month will be a tough one for Fairy due to work commitments. He’s not using that as an excuse though and is still pledging to finish his Delaque gang and start a new army.

While he has a little way to go on the gang he’s hopeful he can complete them before the paint off starts. As for his new army, that’s already underway. He has been hard at work assembling a Daemon war host that he plans to use for the new 40k and Age of Sigmar.

You may remember seeing this photo before. Fairy has had this massive pile of models sitting and waiting for some time. He’s decided the new 40k is the perfect time to start a new army. Fairy is playing it safe though and hasn’t pledged to get any of this painted in July though. If he even gets it all assembled we will be pretty impressed.

Sparky

Instead of tackling his pile of shame this month, Sparky has been taken in by new models. He has been buying new toys! Inspired by the new Light of Eltharion model from the Lumineth Age of Sigmar army, Sparky even took a break from 40k. He has pledged to finish Eltharion this month. Sparky is also working on the new Illuminor Szeras model for his Necrons. Making bold claims that this will be finished before he starts the Paint Off.

Judging by the progress shots he has been posting on Instagram of the Illuminor Sparky may actually achieve a goal this month. As usual though Sparky is making big claims. He has also pledged to finish a patrol force of Necrons this month before the new box set hits the shelves.

How any of the guys manage to complete what they have planned for July may depend on how much time they put into the Paint Off challenge. Check back here tomorrow to see exactly what challenge has been thrown down.
