How Much Do You Have To Paint?
All this started with a simple question. How much do you have to paint? I knew how much I had just sitting there in plastic containers and boxes. You can see about a quarter of it above. I really didn’t know how big the rest of the guy’s piles of shame would be though. Turns out they’re just as big as mine or possibly bigger.
Sparky never sells anything. He just hoards!
– Fury 2020
Everyone leads such busy lives these days. I knew it would be a long shot, but I asked anyway. Think you can paint a force in a month? Then keep it going each month with a new force? Surprisingly both Fury and Fairy said yes straight away. What followed was a lot of back and forth about should we try and paint the same system? Should we set a points limit? Was there a game, reward, or punishment at the end? Partway through deciding Fury even tried to pull out. I’ve heard from his wife and kids he’s never been successful at that hence he’s still here. After a lot of banter, we decided it would be best to start with whatever we were currently interested in or was sitting on the desk still waiting to be finished.
How will this all work?
There may be a month, themed around a game system at some point. To start with though we wanted to keep it easy and make sure everyone was enthusiastic. I was stuck with Tyranids due to a vote from our games club. Fury had Dragon Ogors sitting just waiting for him to finish them. Fairy was building his force of Adeptus Titanicus and wanted to keep working on those and not get sidetracked. So we had our starting forces. From here it is up to us to get painting and see who can finish the task by the end of April.
Time to paint!
How much do you have sitting around to paint? Are you like us with a massive backlog of miniatures? Well hopefully following our progress and will get you motivated as well. This will be an honest account of our journey. There is bound to be failure along the way but hopefully, we can give you some insight into what to do, and what not to do, as we go.
