Old School Painting Challenge

Painting Warhammer 40000

Back at the beginning of May all the guys started talking and realised they all owned the same classic Space Marine Captain in terminator armour. So a gauntlet was thrown down. It was a good ol’ fashioned paint off. That is how the old school painting challenge began this month.

It is also how most of the other projects basically fell by the wayside. Rightly so though. The challenge of a paint off requires time and effort. People’s reputations and bragging rights are on the line here. Today marks the end of the Month and the end of the challenge. Looking at the models though it is pretty easy to see where everyone time has gone.

Vote For A Winner

How do you decide the winner of an old school painting challenge? You put it out there for everyone else to vote on. It was decided that the progress shots would be kept secret from everyone. Hence the lack of updates lately. This was done so no one in the group knew who was doing what. Then, over the weekend there was a big reveal. Everyone involved was impressed with the results. It was amazing to see three of the exact same models all done in different styles, different chapters and different themes. To keep all the judging fair Sparky got to take all the photos. We think he may have overdone it though with the throwback old ‘eavy metal page replica. It is a perfect tribute to the old school days of Games Workshop though.

So, before it is revealed here who painted which one we want people to vote on which classic miniature they think is the best. Votes will be counted across comments here, on the Inquisitors Instagram account posts, Twitter posts and a poll on a couple of Facebook groups. Then later in the week, we will reveal who painted what and show some progress pics and more photos of these amazing miniatures. Hopefully the guys all took notes along the way and have some good hobby insights to share.

So what are you waiting for? Go and vote!
