Tyranid Dreadnoughts

Warhammer 40000

Most armies I start, I start with a dreadnought. The equivalent for a Tyranid force is obviously the mighty Carnifex. These Tyranids are one of the only armies I have started without a dreadnought or a tank. So it is time to add one in. With only a day left to go in the month, I doubt there will be time to finish it. I will kick myself if I don’t try though.

So far the Tyranid force for the month is sitting at over 500 points. I’m claiming that as a completed force for the month. At least so far. Fairy and Fury haven’t weighed in with their thoughts (more like smack talk) on that yet though. With one day left I’d like to push it up to 750 points or above if I can.

So far the models painted are:
1 x Hive Tyrant
1 x Broodlord
16 x Termagants
1 x Biovore
17 x Spore Mines

Models still to paint are:
Too many to count! But the focus for the last day is what’s in the photos below.

Distractions

One of the lessons I have learned this month is to not become distracted from the task. I’m trying, but it’s really hard. Well, distraction hit yesterday when I was looking for some bases. I had two old, lead, Carnifex models but no bases for them. Searching through the hoard of plastic for a base I came across this little gem.

So after deciding to open the box, I needed to make a decision. Do I stick with the old lead model or glue together a new plastic one? As time is so short I tried to get back on task. With the lead models mostly glued and one partly painted already I decided to go lead. Somehow I managed to control myself and I took out just the base.

I don’t like my chances of finishing these completely with only a day to go but I’m going to try. At the very least I should be able to get base colours done which is enough to game with.
