Deep in the Segmentum Pacificus, beyond the Imperial Forge World of Hydraphur, on the cusp of the most western point of the Cicatrix Maledictum, lies the Novacastrium Sector. This little known sector has spent many years fighting back the forces of Chaos and Xenos that encroach upon the Imperial worlds it contains. Now, as the Imperium of man lies split by the Great Rift, these forces have once again gathered to try and take the sector. The War for Novacastrium has begun.

Novacastrium Prime

The core world of the Novacastrium Sector, Novacastrium Prime is designated a Hive World. Although officially designated a Hive World, the planet consists of a combination of hive spires, forges, manufactorums and low lying arid wastelands.

Since the onset of the Cicatrix Maledictum, Novacastrium Prime has begun to feel the influence of the warp with an increase in cult uprisings. Whispers of Genestealer Cults and other nefarious beings in the lower depths of the hives have also begun to circulate. Currently, the local Arbite forces have been able to minimise these threats. Although, with many of the sectors outlying planets facing attack from both Chaos and Xenos enemies, it is only a matter of time before the War for Novacastrium reaches the core planet.

Further adding to the fear of the local populace, strange coloured anomalies have begun to appear high in the atmosphere. Intertwined with the pollution of the planet these blue and purple anomalies stand in stark contrast to the usual dreary, grey, skyline of Novacastrium Prime. While the cults hidden in secret praise these as evidence of their daemon lords gifts, the local Ecclesiarchy has taken to the streets and pulpits preaching that these anomalies are a sign of the Emperor’s protection. With war encroaching from all sides the fate of Novacastrium Prime may yet rest on the Emperor’s divine protection.

Novacastrium Secondus

Novacastrium Secondus is a designated Agri World. This rich Agri World is the primary planet responsible for supplying much of the Novacastrium Sector. The verdant farming lands situated on Novacastrium Secondus not only supply most of the sector but are also the main source of food supply for the inhabitants of the death world Tephra.

While the War for Novacastrium is yet to impact Novacastrium Secondus several Imperial detachments have been sent to reinforce the orbiting planetary defences forces of the agri world as a precautionary measure. This planet is considered a vital resource for the entire sector.

Tephra

During the time of the Indomitus Crusade, the death world of Tephra was re-designated as a Space Marine Chapter Homeworld for the Kights of Tephra. A Primaris Chapter of Space Marines created during the Ultima Founding from the gene-seed of Vulkan.

Tephra is home to a large but primitive populace who live mostly in the arid plains and jungles that border the equator. The planet was originally designated a death world due to the inhospitable volcanic region that circles the equator. While this area is inaccessible to the local inhabitants it forms a secure natural defence for the new Space Marine chapter’s fortress monastery.

An unlikely target of attack during the War for Novacastrium Tephra is none the less consider to be a vital asset for the sector.

Sector Fringe Worlds

The many worlds on the fringe of the Novacastrium Sector encompass the gamut of Imperial world designations from feudal and feral worlds through to armoury worlds and shrine worlds.

As Chaos and Xenos forces test the Imperial defences of Novacastrium these planets form the battlefileds for the first engagements in the War for Novacastrium.
