Titan One Done
The first model in this month’s challenge is fully complete. Fairy has lived up to his usual standard and as a result, is the first to complete a miniature. This thing looks amazing too. His army still has a lot to go but for today, let’s focus on this beast of a titan.
The yellow and gold colour Fairy has chosen is a real stand out and works particularly well against the grey. The touches of blue on the markings draw your eye into the shields and knee plates and accentuate the icons well against the other colours. It’s a really striking effect and I’m looking forward to seeing more models in this scheme. I think they will make a great looking force, just like my Imperial Fists.
“I have been tinkering with new techniques which have been great. I am really enjoying painting again.”
– Fairy 2020
The model itself has details everywhere and Fairy has complemented those well with some nice touches on the base. Looking at this mighty war machine from above you can just imagine the crew running around to man this huge machine and all its weapons.
Show me your guns!
This titan brings the heavy fire support to Fairy’s force. The quake cannon on top will deal some heavy damage to enemy titans and the arm-mounted weapons should take out any pesky knights. A Nemesis Titan sacrifices some speed for the sake of firepower and it definitely shows when you look at this model.
Fairy has always been a fan of Epic scale 40k and although I have Epic in the plastic pile myself I’m never enthusiastic to get in and paint it. Seeing this titan come together though is changing my mind. Fairy may yet convince me that I need to paint and play Adeptus Titanicus.
This is only the first of a few titans in Fairy’s force. To go along with the titans he also has some Reavers and Warhounds which he is working on. Check back later in the week to see how they are progressing and which size titan has been getting his attention.
